The Project Behind the Chair

Watch the video about how the VELA Neonatal chair was conceptualised during a PhD project at Kolding Sygehus Department of Neonatology.

The chair was developed, in part, based on RCT studies, together with staff and patients at H6 Department of Neonatology at Odense University Hospital (OUH) and P3 Department of Neonatology at Kolding Sygehus Hospital.

Objectives:

• Increase patient comfort and independence
• Improve work environment for staff
• Improve operations at the hospital

Hygiene Benefits

VELA medical chairs are designed to meet the stringent hygiene and disinfecting requirements in the healthcare sector

• For optimal hygiene, chairs have easy-to-clean surfaces without recesses where dirt might gather, including the underside of the chair
• All backrests are supplied with edge bands to prevent dirt collecting in the joints
• All parts can withstand disinfection, for example, with alcohol or chlorine at the recommended concentration and mixing ratios

Magic Premium

Magic Premium lives up to all the requirements of the health sector, including durability and hygiene. Magic Premium can be disinfected using solutions of 70% ethanol or chlorine disinfectants containing up to 5,000 ppm of active chlorine. Magic Premium provides a comfortable, non-slippery surface.
